Dialogue: UschtenheimEdit

[Exiting Vorador's Mansion:]
Kain (V.O.): And so I left that place, with clear knowledge of what sort of monster I would become if I let my curse consume me, and with an ally for the future.
[Observing Dark Eden:]
Mortanius: A triad congregates at the roof of the world, Kain; a plot to twist the land, to shape the world. North is where your vengeance lies.
[Reading the signpost for Uschtenheim:]
Kain (V.O.): In my travels, I learned much about the legend of Janos Audron. Here, in this quaint pastoral village of Uschtenheim, that dark enemy was born. Janos preyed upon its peasants until he was finally hunted down and executed.

Dialogue: The Pillars of NosgothEdit

Ariel: Does your patience with the Sarafan grow thin, vampire? Dogs come only when their masters call.
I believe some members of the Circle have banished themselves north.
Perhaps Dark Eden is the snare you seek.

Dialogue: The Ruined LandEdit

[Seeing a mutated human:]
Kain (V.O.): The poor wretch was warped beyond recognition. To think that it was once human.
[Encountering Dark Eden's strange creatures:]
Kain (V.O.): Such strange creatures that had been spawned by this dark magic; things half insect and half mammal – human torsos grafted onto abominations of the flesh. Sick as it was, I could not help but admire its creator's ingenuity.
[Progressing west:]
Kain (V.O.): If it could be said that a land descended into madness, 'twould be an accurate account of Dark Eden. A garden of horrors, seeded with sick perversion of nature's design.
I knew that this Dark Eden I had trespassed upon would continue to grow, until all of Nosgoth was consumed.
[Seeing the magic shell of Dark Eden:]
Kain (V.O.): Magic seethed and shifted. I watched the dome of energy as it expanded, absorbing and recreating, consuming life and leaving behind only a twisted parody.

Dialogue: The region south of Dark EdenEdit

[Passing through the magic shell:]
Kain (V.O.): I passed through the wall unharmed. It seemed the magic only preyed on things that were alive and pure. Or, perhaps it simply decided that I was twisted enough.

Dialogue: Dark EdenEdit

[Seeing the castle from a distance:]
Kain (V.O.): A tower stood in the distance. From its apex spewed the vortex of energy that shaped the lands below.

Dialogue: The Dark Eden CastleEdit

[Entering the Eden castle:]
Kain (V.O.): The surface of the castle belied its interior; for it was far larger inside than out. With the powers the Circle had at its disposal, 'twould have been simple to distort space to accommodate this strange structure.
[Finding the Alchemy rooms:]
Kain (V.O.): The sorcerer's sanctuary, his laboratory. Inside was all manner of items arcane: pickled bodies, dissected corpses, both man and beast, and metal constructs that heaved arcs of energy into the air. I sensed more than one force being manipulated in this place.
Strange. Rarely did a sorcerer condescend to work with others.
[Confronting the three sorcerers:]
Kain (V.O.): Ah, not one but three – DeJoule the Energist, Bane the Druid, and Anarcrothe the Alchemist. How considerate of them to hasten my search.
Bane: So, the scourge of the Circle has arrived...!
DeJoule: Fear him not, Bane – he is but a whelp; his soul is ours for the taking!
Anarcrothe: Don't be ridiculous! Malek! To our aid!
[Anarcrothe disappears.]
Kain (V.O.): Damn you, Alchemist! I had not come this far only to have my quarry escape!
[Kain uses the ring to summon Vorador; Malek confronts his old enemy.]

Dark Diary: The Great DuelEdit

[Interior Dark Eden Castle main hall, Malek and Vorador fight as Kain, Bane and DeJoule (cloaked) watch.]
Malek: Vengeance! Vengeance for my eternity of suffering!
Vorador: Whelp! As if you knew what eternity was! Grovel before your true master.
Malek: (coldly)
Never! I'll hack you from crotch to gizzard and feed what's left to your brides...
[Kain gives pursuit to the fleeing sorcerers. A fierce battle ensues between Malek and Vorador.]

Dialogue: Confronting Bane and DeJouleEdit

Kain (V.O.): As Vorador clashed against Malek, I gave pursuit to the fleeing wizards DeJoule and Bane...
Kain (V.O.): I danced their dance. When the time came, they would dance upon my sword!
[Bane and DeJoule taunt Kain:]
Bane: His magic is weak!
Bane: He is an affront to Nature itself, it is our duty to purify him!
DeJoule: Burn! Wretched vampire! Burn!
[Upon collecting Bane's Antler Headdress:]
Kain (V.O.): The antler headdress had broken in the fight, but power still resided in its ivory form.
[Upon collecting DeJoule's Insulating Cloak:]
Kain (V.O.): The cloak was made from an alloy akin to lead: heavy and malleable, woven into fine links. The energy she controlled was stored in this garment.

Dialogue: The Dark Eden CastleEdit

[Upon collecting Malek's Helmet:]
Kain (V.O.): I found Malek's helmet amongst the scattered remnants of his armor, whole and intact. Vorador had finally laid his old adversary to rest.

Dialogue: The Pillars of NosgothEdit

Kain (V.O.): The Helmet of Malek, I placed before the Pillar of Conflict.
[The offering is placed:]
Kain (V.O.): The pillar accepted its offering, thus it was restored.
Kain (V.O.): The act had taken on the feel of ritual. Isn't it strange how we must bribe our gods to stay?
Kain (V.O.): At the foot of the Energy Pillar, I set the cloak of DeJoule.
[The offering is placed:]
Kain (V.O.): The pillar accepted its offering, thus it was restored.
Kain (V.O.): The antler headdress of the Druid Bane I lay before the Nature Pillar.
[The offering is placed:]
Kain (V.O.): The pillar accepted its offering, thus it was restored.
Ariel: You must seek Azimuth the Planer at the heart of Avernus.
Three instruments await you, to aid you in your quest, but first you must rise and you must fall and find your salvation in between.

NotesEdit

  • The dialogue transcripts used in this article are adapted from Tenaya's original transcript of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain at Nosgothic Realm, and the pair of official Silicon Knights/Crystal Dynamics scripts hosted at The Lost Worlds as of 2012. As in the Nosgothic Realm transcript, some scene descriptions have had to be manually revised to reflect the finished product, but these edits are intended to be as slight as possible.[2][3]
