Kain's headquarters was the headquarters of the Vampire army. It appeared only briefly in the introduction sequence to Blood Omen 2. Kain and Vorador are depicted there in the introduction, plotting their movements against the Sarafan[BO2].
The location of the headquarters has not explicitly been identified, and it is unclear whether it existed prior to the third paradox in Soul Reaver 2, or whether it still stood after Kain's defeat. The map of southern Nosgoth as shown in Blood Omen 2's intro clearly shows a flag bearing Kain's symbol, placed between the Lake of Tears and the Pillars of Nosgoth: the Vampire Army's "trail of destruction" stems from this point, suggesting that the headquarters was situated here[BO2].
In the Blood Omen 2 manual, Kain mentions that "my castle lies in ruins". If he is referring to the headquarters portrayed in the intro, this implies it was destroyed after his defeat.
- The implied location of the headquarters (between the Lake of Tears and the Pillars) is visited by Kain in Legacy of Kain: Defiance, during Nosgoth's early history[DEF].
- If not positioned near the Pillars, it is possible that the headquarters is Kain's Mountain Retreat, which was originally intended to appear in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
- In the Blood Omen 2 opening sequence, the sculpture of a winged humanoid can briefly be seen decorating the walls of Kain's Headquarters. The same sculpture is visible (two hundred years later on) on the walls of Meridian Cathedral. It is unknown if the artwork was intended to be the same sculpture[BO2].
